Ian Mathieson – Professional Freelance Editor
Ian Mathieson is an experienced editor and writing adviser. He’s a Professional-level member of the Institute of Professional Editors Australia & New Zealand.
Ian works across a range of genre – fiction, biography, historical fiction, illustrated childrens stories, academic dissertations and research papers, thrillers and more.
His philosophy about editing is to bring his expertise in a way that’s akin to the prisms and lenses in a pair of binoculars: make the author’s material clearer, more impacting, more accessible for a reader. To preserve the author’s voice. To be a bridge between the author on the one hand, and a publisher and a reader on the other.
Ian has published six books. In 2022 he was commissioned to write a memoir of a sports figure. He’s also written scripts for feature films and documentaries.
For a chat about your writing and editing needs, phone Ian on 0411 600 712 or email ian@ianmathiesonediting.com.
